What does it mean to have good mental health? Being someone strong? Someone who doesn't show emotion- or if you do, someone who can only show anger?

Sometimes in the family there is bad information about mental health and we keep repeating the same bad habits that they have shown us to pretend that we are well.

When instead of facing our mental health, we put on a strong front -that is, pretending that we are fine, we worsen emotional symptoms. Although someone suffers in silence, feels isolated, is in a relationship or in a job that hurts them, has body fatigue, has a high heart rate, fear, stress, panic- it is common for someone to feel that they have lost control. Sometimes we endure a situation because we don't know how to deal with it.

My career as a therapist has taught me a lot about how someone can feel better about dealing with problems with a strategy that you decide.

Stressed?

Sometimes when someone avoids and pretends that they are good they look to habits that make them feel better.  Meeting with a therapist can help you find balance through healthy coping techniques and strategies. Unhealthy coping sometimes looks like acts of self-harm or drinking, eating, using drugs, sex to ease the pain.
